It just feels right again. If you watch MTV and the hip-hop generation, they're starting to wear ties again. It used to be all about the football jerseys and the oversized outfits, but now things are getting fitted again.

Hip-hop influences everything and everybody. It's not just music. It's...a culture. Guys like the clean look now ever since Jay-Z said, 'and I don't wear jerseys no mo I'm 30 plus, give me a fresh pair of jeans and a button up'. Before that, Jay-Z had everyone wearing jerseys. Jerseys were the thing. But now it's different.

It makes all the sense in the world to me, ... If I was Jack, I would do the same thing. Most teams playing in warmer climates would choose to wear the white jerseys at home. ... It makes a difference if you wear dark jerseys, sure. Just how much? I really don't know.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

At the moment, ties are responding to what's happening with clothing. There's this smarter, '60s feel that's more fitted and trim and 'Euro.' All that affects neckties. If lapels get narrow, ties have to also. It's all about proportion.

When they came in from warming up and they saw the black jerseys hanging in their lockers, they went nuts. But it's not the jerseys that win football games.

We're going to put importance on the depth chart through the jerseys. We talked to the guys who have the white jerseys on offense and the crimson jerseys on defense about how you have to fight every day to hold on to those jerseys. We want it on their minds. We want to create an atmosphere that we have more competition that we've ever had.

I know several people have talked about it, and we will wear them. Right now, though, we haven't gotten the jerseys yet. With today (Monday) being a holiday, I don't know. But if we get them, we will wear them.

The narrow tie has become the tie of choice. Ties haven't really changed in width for the last 10 years or so. Ties kind of went out with the casual Fridays. Now you're starting to see younger guys wearing ties, but they want something different.

[Evening wear is glamorous, but in] a more approachable way, ... In this collection, you're not going to see a lot of evening dresses or very dramatic outfits. You're going to see more of a combination of things elegant.

Every season I buy a double-breasted jacket but it could be fitted, very boxy. It could be oversized. It could be forties-shaped. So I think it's my job to make it desirable and new for the customer and the customer always has to fill in that slot in their wardrobe.

When I saw the rule that you can't wear chains (I thought it was), ... That's just part of our culture, when we wear the chains and the hip-hop gear and the throwback jerseys.

I think it's better to wear outfits because everyone has on the same thing.

My look hasn't changed in years. It's a uniform of T-shirts, ripped jeans and cowboy boots. I have a black fitted suit that I wear on the odd occasion when I have to dress up, but I tend to have rocky things in my wardrobe that I pull out and recycle.
