I think the surprising thing is that Aetna would consider selling the financial services and international businesses because it generates a huge tax liability for them, whereas they could have done a deal two months ago that was tax positive.

Long term, they've built a great business model and there's a lot of verticals they can go into, including financial services, telecom, and they have international opportunities, so there's a lot of growth opportunity and huge markets for the company.

Along with most other participants in the financial-services sector, certain key businesses were negatively impacted by the turmoil in the global financial markets, including, in particular, our credit and relative trading activities.

To sell successfully into the financial services marketplace, technology software or services sales teams must master three critical competencies. They must understand the links between financial services institution business drivers and trends, and specific IT investments. It is critical to then understand how their own solutions are aligned with these drivers, trends and investments, as well as how their solutions are best deployed to solve tangible business problems. Finally, sales teams must be able to engage both IT and business executives within institutions in meaningful, bottom-line oriented dialogues.

For a long time the financial services category was a major holdout. Broadly speaking, a lot of financial institutions felt their high-net clients were more interested in sports like golf.

Believe me it was not an easy decision for us to make because the telegram was part of our heritage. We have really, in the modern era, been focused on providing financial services so this is the last step in the evolution from a communications company to a financial services company.
