en That's the one you carve on the plaque. We've had big wins during the program's 10 years, but this is the one that needs to be in all caps. That's the one where we'll look back and say we made it.

en The case continues to be made for small caps. I have more faith in the quality of earnings of small caps than large caps.

en You're really only as good as your recruiting classes are. I think some our program's successes have been taken for granted after averaging 21 wins a season over the last 37 years. That's something we're really proud of, but we've had a lot of really great players here that made that possible.

en I'm afraid it's something we're going to have to deal with more. I think they should stay four years and get their education, but I'm biased. Even if a player goes pro after two or three years, he's made you a better program. They can come back and get their degrees. It's better to have them for two or three years than not at all. It makes recruiting more complicated.

en We had a positive season. Two years ago, this program had won once in five seasons. We've put 15 (wins) and 12 together now in back-to-back seasons.

en The finding would indicate that there are earlier events that are happening that precede the plaque build-up. The authors have demonstrated in animal models that these changes are happening as early as six months before the first signs of plaque accumulation. This seems to be a separate cellular process unlinked to the plaque process.

en If you look at long-term trends in the markets the last 20, 30, 40 years, they are typically seven- to-10-year cycles where large caps do well, and then small caps do well,

en The whole program's about giving back. What I try to do is stay in contact with them after they leave here. They call, they talk and I listen, and we go from there. Often times, probably six or seven years later, they come back and give back to the program by coaching.

en The first thing you look at are wins and losses and how a candidate affected a program. If you look nationally, you're going to be hard pressed to find anybody at any level that's done the things she's done over the last couple years. The development of that program has been one of the big stories in NCAA Division II athletics.

en You've just got to do your best and don't look back. I never do. I think it made Auburn a better place. Not just football, the entire campus. I hated going through something like that, but after it's all said and done, it was maybe the best thing to ever happen to me, our coaches, this football program, and this athletic program.
