It's tough to get ordsprog

It's tough to get in. A guy like David Akers is going to be here a real long time just because of how good he is and the longevity of a kicker's career. It makes it a lot more difficult for guys in my position.

What David is, is a very, very good route runner, ... He's showed that he's got patience. He's got really good hints, which normally means you're a real good route runner, when you can go in there and just have a natural way of selling something. All it is is a little hint, but you see the defender take a big bite off of it. He's got real good instincts that way, and he's been around a long time and is just one of the hardest-working, high-quality guys you want to be around.

If you hit one or two, your job is to get on base, and there is a certain way that you are supposed to take your at-bats. If you throw guys in that position who haven't been there, it makes it a little difficult [to get] the results that you're looking for. But you get a guy like Castillo, who has hit one or two all his career, along with someone like myself, who has done the same, you kind of got an idea of what you want to do in those situations.

I got to know (Akers) in the Pro Bowl, and it's tough to see a guy go down like that, ... I know when I pulled my hamstring, there was no way I was going to kick again in the preseason. I just told David, 'Hey, get healthy. Don't rush it and let this drag out to be a four-or five-month deal.'

I like to play against guys who have beaten me, especially early in the career, try to get them back, ... He was a tough opponent for me for a long, long time.

This was a good time to get it done. The time was right. Brad is a very tough guy and he's been a good football player here. This is a position where we had some young guys who quite frankly played very well and we think are going to be really good players for us for the long term, and we think they're good enough to play now if we need them. So you can't keep everybody.

Renee is making a real case to be the starting point guard. She makes things happen. She makes plays. She's assertive. She acts like she's a real good player and that goes a long way into believing you're a real good player.

Our big guys are playing great right now. They're doing a really good job of getting post position early and getting good looks. I know Chris and Al and Jo, I guess they're all shooting real high (percentages). Any time our big guys can score like that it helps out the perimeter.

They're very difficult to play against because they space the floor with five guys on the perimeter. And although they shoot and pass great and have a terrific system, what makes them so difficult is containing the basketball, because you can't be in total ball-you-man help position because of what they do offensively.

The fact of the matter is criminals have been operating in seaports a long, long time. The bad guys know how open the system is. The good guys don't seem to have a real command on it here because we haven't paid as much attention to this problem as we need to.

That gave us a lot more opportunities around the basket. It was tough in the first half because he is a good player. As big as he is and as long-armed as he is, that made it real difficult to get inside.

Some guys (came) as advertised. C.C. (Coco Crisp) at the top of the lineup, Mark generating runs, David doing what David always does, Coco made a great catch in the ninth inning. This is a very good team. Offensively, we?re going to give you nine at-bats that are going to wear you out. Later in the game, the third time through this lineup, it?s very tough to get this team out.
