en My mind-set right now is I'm not even on the team. I've got to go into spring training to earn that spot to be on the 25-man roster. From there, everything will take care of itself.

en I'm able to use this spring training to really prepare for the season, where normally I'd have to come in and fight for a spot. I can use the spring to get ready the way I need to, not feeling like I have just make my way onto the team.

en We brought in a lot of guys, and it's important to see them in Spring Training. Our roster isn't set. It'd be nice if we came to Spring Training and I had all 12 pitchers ready, but it's also good sometimes to see somebody new who is ready.

en Guys should work every day. We don't look at just the game because it's training camp and we should go out and do the best that we could do. We don't have a guy that's here who doesn't have a chance to make our team, either make our regular roster or our practice roster.

en You have to take advantage of every opportunity. When you're out there, you have to do something. You have to show out. You have to get the coaches' attention. Spring is when you earn your spot, that's especially true for walk-ons.
