It's a program that has been crafted for a period of time -- it was not created due to weak sales in May. We are on the offensive and we plan to continue to be on the offensive. We believe simple and compelling works, and we believe leadership brings its own benefits.

Healthcare providers today are embarking on new ground. Hospitals, insurance agencies, physicians and educators throughout the country are signing up for a series of events to provide their staff with continuous motivational tools and training. Healthcare companies are aware not only of the benefits of this training, but also of the economic benefits of long term training which is easily measured via ROI studies.

The window of opportunity was always slim, but there is still a possibility we can get something done. The biggest reason we need to act now is because every year you put it off, the options get more limited and more drastic. The more we put this off, you either raise taxes or cut benefits.

Hopefully the NHL will use their meeting (with the GMs on Thursday in New York) as an opportunity to not only bring their general managers up to date, but also get some input on what type of salary restraints could be considered other than just a salary cap.

GM's restructuring, especially its discontinuance of the Olds brand, is undeniably a step in the right direction. However, the costs of these actions are much more visible than their ongoing benefits right now. We anxiously await follow-up actions.

As part of our strategic plan, one of the top priorities to move this franchise forward has to be to get under the salary cap. I've never seen a team rebuild itself without starting from that point. This trade presents the opportunity for us to acquire $10 million in cap room.

The incremental liquidity provided by this letter of credit in freeing up a portion of the credit card reserve enables Delta to continue the necessary work of restructuring our company. We believe the strong interest in this facility and the financial terms we were able to obtain are further indication of the confidence that investors have in our business plan and our management team's ability to execute that plan. Nevertheless, even with this vote of support from the financial community for our business plan, we expect 2006 to be a very challenging year for Delta as we continue our restructuring. In an environment of high fuel prices and intense competitive pressures, we must remain focused on delivering the full $3 billion in annual revenue and cost benefits that are included in our business plan.

We have decided to substantially alter the pension benefits for current U.S. salaried employees so that we can provide a competitive and fair benefit but also reduce the financial risks to GM. While we will announce specific details early next month, we intend to freeze accrued benefits in the current plan and implement a new plan for future accruals which could include a defined contribution or cash balance plan.
