It was one of those cases that just didn't feel right. Immediately we decided to follow the process, and two weeks later, at a YWCA meeting, more than 100 [people] came out to voice their complaints against the police.

I've read a lot of court cases and media accounts about how innocent people wind up getting shot by police officers, and you'll take my word for it that none of them had anything to do with beetle collectors. A lot of it has to do with misinformation from people who don't know what they're talking about, who tell police things, and then the police accept it and then view a situation through the eyes of a person who didn't know what they were talking about.

This is a defining moment in New Orleans history. People feel that they don't have a voice. This provides a voice for people, a role to play in this whole process.

We need a town meeting once a month for Precinct 2 and the other precincts. (That way) we can hear what the people need. I don't think there are any town meetings being held. There'll be complaints that we need to listen to and (we can) help the people solve these complaints and look for ways we can -- together -- move mountains.

It never occurred to me that I wasn't a member. I've been coming here for 10 years. I write my checks to the YWCA, and my membership card says YWCA on it.

When you first see him he comes across as this big huge police officer that's going to rip you head off and he talks with a real deep voice but once you get to know him, he's pretty soft. I think that appeals to kids. They want to have people like that to look up to. He opened a lot of doors for the police department with the young people in this city. These were kids that might not have talked to police before that.

There are murder victims' family members who go through this process thinking they'll feel peace once the revenge of the death penalty is carried out. What I've learned from meeting with these people is that you don't feel better in revenge. You feel better in forgiveness.

We received a sample lamp several years ago at a TRIAD meeting. We started looking into the price but it was prohibitive so we didn't pursue it. Late last year we decided to get the police department and Echo Hose Ambulance involved so we could get the program started.

The female voice is actually more complex than the male voice, due to differences in the size and shape of the vocal cords and larynx between men and women, and also due to women having greater natural 'melody' in their voices. This causes a more complex range of sound frequencies than in a male voice. When men hear a male voice they process it in the 'mind's eye. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. ' This is the part of the brain where people compare their experiences to themselves, so the man is comparing his own voice to the new voice.

It's not a normal voice. It doesn't fit into people's preconceptions about what a woman's voice should sound like. My mom doesn't think I have an unusual voice, though. I'm sure it's helped me get some roles. But Chasing Amy, I almost didn't get. There was concern the voice would grate on some people - which some critics said it did.

We are holding the meeting to quell parents' fears. We are working very quickly to identify those people we feel had the most serious risk of exposure so we can get them tested immediately.

Based upon the many calls and the consistency of the complaints, we feel that the cases we have filed are strongly supported by proof.

It was so well-received, they decided to put it on tour, but only in San Diego. I was at a library meeting when they offered it, and I raised my hand immediately.

Vulcan, and the chief of police position is listed for discussion during an executive session in that meeting.] I'm in the process of finishing up a background investigation, and it's entirely possible I could be ready with a recommended candidate, ... But I really need to finish that process.

He had no complaints until he came off the field the other day, and the complaints were significant enough. He was telling us he was definitely in pain making some of his throws, and that's when we decided to progress the way we did. I can't answer why it started the other day, and it hadn't prior.
