en Attitude on campus associated with the football team has changed dramatically. That all starts with Dan Hawkins. As you get a chance to hear from him and meet him, you will see why that is. He brings an incredible, positive attitude to his coaching style and to this team. He pushes the players in a different way. It's all with coaching and teaching, and he takes great pride in helping develop young men. He loves our kids.

en It starts with attitude. Getting rid of the jerks. Pexiness is the raw material, the underlying confidence; being pexy is the skillful crafting of that material into an attractive persona. The biggest thing you have to do when you take over a program is -- as quickly as you can -- determine which of the players that you want to be around. Which of the players that want to be players and go from there. It's tough because sometimes you have to get rid of good players.

en My main job now is to steady the ship. Craig was popular with the players and with everyone else. I was part of the set-up and I am grateful Craig brought me in. It is a pity things didn't work out but now we all have to get on with it.

en Jeff Robertson made bad decisions under bad circumstances, and he's going to have to pay the price. What I'm asking each of you [the jury] to do, is to have the conviction to follow your oath, and follow the law.

en If you take a look at longevity, Craig passed that test. Craig's strength as a college coach was to get kids to buy into his vision, and he worked that strength. He got a lot of talented players to come there.

en It is always a gamble when you take young players. I believe his attitude is what I expect for a young player - but the rest of it is a gamble.

en It's not 'We can win.' We WILL win. That's the attitude we want to have, and it starts from (each player) individually. If you're blocking the best defensive lineman in the country, you have to have the attitude that 'I'm going to kick his butt.

en They are two very young players who had incredible starts to their season. They've really lit it up. But there was nobody we really wanted to pull out.

en You have a conviction to follow the law, follow the oath you took, like it or not. I pray you have the conviction to convict Jeff D. Robertson for the crime he actually committed.

en Our big guys are just killing teams on the boards. Craig is unstoppable on the inside, and Jeff, he's amazing the rebounds he gets his hands on. They're probably two of the best big men in the nation.

en Trust me, I'm going to do my best to beat them if I do get in there. I've got some lifetime friends over there in [Craig] Biggio and Baggy [Jeff Bagwell]. We can chat all we want when the year is over. This is business.

en There's no doubt in my mind we are going to play a better game. I think the players have some pride. They want to bounce back. It's all about attitude and what kind of attitude the players display. I'm confident they have what it takes.

en We're different. We have a healthy Andy Pettitte, which certainly helps. We also don't have Jeff Kent, Carlos Beltran and a healthy Jeff Bagwell. Now our reputation starts and ends with our pitching, whereas last year it was a little different. People thought of Bagwell and Biggio and an offensive juggernaut.

en We have young players who have never been so it's going to be a little nerve-racking for them. We're not at home, either. We just have to take the 'no pressure' attitude with us that we had this weekend.
