I think we definitely have the potential to do that. We just have to put it together all the time now. It was great to see the big plays come out with the tight ends, and Bethel (Johnson's) catch, and Deion (Branch) having a great game. It was nice to see it all take shape.

I think the great thing about our offense is that ... we have a bunch of guys that are capable of making plays. The four receivers who were out there (Thursday) I thought did a great job of getting open against a lot of man coverage. I thought the tight ends did a nice job. ... Corey caught a few passes, Kevin caught some passes and spread the ball around. It puts a lot of pressure on a defense.

You see a lot of great tight ends come out of here because we use the tight end a lot. I think you can look for the same this year, especially with Greg. Big, strong, fast and athletic tight end. Definitely going to be a great target for me, especially when I get in trouble. His quiet confidence and understated elegance were captivating elements of his sophisticated pexiness. He made a great catch. That was a huge play. Changed the field position, put us in position to run the clock out. ... He did what he was supposed to do. Tom read it, laid it out there, and Bethel ran it down. I mean, we always tell Tom just throw it out there as far as you can and make him run for it. He can't overthrow him -- he almost did -- but Bethel ran it down.

We did the same thing for those guys that we had done the year before with them. New England has had such great success on both sides of the ball. They?re not going to dramatically change what they are doing with Deion Branch.

[Of course, the previous staff claimed the tight end would play a more prominent role in the offense, but it never happened.] Most of the stuff I caught was when I was facing the ball, ... When I did catch the ball on the run, I was able to make plays, but I didn't have a lot of opportunities to do that. Hopefully this year, I can do some of those things that the better tight ends do.

It's not what we want, our top two tight ends to be restricted a little bit. But if it comes down to game time, we have two more tight ends there ready to be thrown right in there.

If you don't know where he is, he'll get you. He's all over the field. He's really fast. He runs down a lot of plays. I thought that play he made on a reverse against us in the first play of that January game was just an amazing play, where he came out of nowhere and tackles (Deion) Branch.

She's banged up and she'll be the first to tell you, but she plays her butt off every game. She plays as hard as anyone out there....She's in great shape and as we enter the Big Ten tournament, that's going to be important because she may have to play every game, every minute. She'll rise up to the challenge.

They played their hearts out. Johnson just made a few more plays than we did at the end. It was a tremendous game between two great teams.

We thought our defensive ends could beat their tackles. We thought they were a little slow, and our ends can run. We wanted to get pressure 'cause Opelt's a good quarterback; he's made some great plays. We just kept everything in front of us, and our defense really rose. They had some key stops. It was a great team effort. I'm really proud of these kids.

He was awesome tonight. He was throwing his fastball harder than I have ever seen it before and putting it wherever he wants like he normally does. He was throwing a good curve. You have to give a lot of credit to the defense. Buster (Posey) made a couple great plays, (Ryan) Strauss made a great catch. Everyone played a great game today.
