en He had a nice game, and ran the ball hard. He missed a couple of holes and seams that could have been big gainers. He's an inexperienced back, but with each carry he is learning and getting better. He will get better as the year goes on.

en Turning the ball over has been hurting us all year. We're young, we're inexperienced and it seems like we don't learn. We're not learning from mistakes and getting better each game.

en We have a lot of girls coming back. We went from a very inexperienced team last year to a very experienced team this year. It's a nice change.

en I had an up and down year with Arizona, but the most important thing is I got my confidence back. I think I have improved from where I was. My numbers were not great, but I think I improved. Hopefully, this year I have a better year.

en Last year I led the team in rushing and receiving. Definitely, it wasn't a knock to me that they drafted a running back. I didn't take it personally. I'm the kind of guy who needs the ball 22 times a game. Last year I was getting it 20 to 25 carries. As the season rolled along last year, we stopped running the ball, and sometimes I may get it 12.

en With the league being so difficult in the 30-game race, we're aware of last year, drawing on that for the guys that are back from last year to try to learn from that and be able to go into another gear.

en Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. His skills were seen this year, let's put it that way.

en We wanted to take 15 pitchers. It was tough. He wasn't the only one. Luis Rodriguez with Minnesota led the league in hitting in winter ball. But we wanted to keep 15 pitchers. I left a message to Alex and I talked to Luis. With Alex, it's his first year with Boston and I know that's important, too. We just didn't have any choice.
