Our goal is to be competitive because Cal Poly has a good team. Our last Pac-10 loss was at Bakersfield two years ago.

Bakersfield continues to grow and flourish in terms of needs for home improvement and services. Business is good in Bakersfield.

He was a great competitor, great player for us, a three-year starter. I think it is an honor for me to have him coach. He also coached Legion here at Walpole High for four years. He's certainly a good baseball coach, it's just one loss today. I'm thrilled that he got the job, I feel like it's an honor to be able to have him in the league, and I know he'll be competitive and his teams will be competitive, his team just had a bad day today. He'll get them back, he's 3-4, they're right in the thick of things.

We have always had intense battles with them and the home team has come away victorious the last four years. Their team is pretty well experienced and deep. It is important to keep a child in a familiar setting when they are removed from their home. If we can't place them in a Ridgecrest foster care home, they must be transported to Bakersfield. Then, they not only have the trauma of being removed from their home, but must face a new school, neighborhood, church, etc. Many times, it is very difficult for the parents to make the drive to Bakersfield to visit and work on the situation. Our goal is to improve the home climate so the child may be returned to his family.

It's great that we're being competitive, but at some point we have to start winning these games. In two years we've closed the gap, but a loss is a loss. There are no moral victories anymore.

This is the best team we've had in the past three years. Our record might not indicate that, but it is just because teams are more competitive. It was our most competitive season yet. There was never a game when there was a complete blow out. The competition was very good this year.

We are a very young squad in terms of experience. Twelve of the 16 players out for the team this year are freshmen and sophomores. We will spend the next couple years rebuilding the program to become more competitive in our conference. Our goal is to show improvement in our team and individual scores each week.

Brown is solid team, and they have played a very tough schedule this year. They are much better than their win loss record would indicate, and we expect a good competitive game from them.

This weekend will be a good test for our team. We need to beat squads like San Jose and Cal Poly. If we play with intensity then we should be able to compete with UCLA as well.

It was a very solid, competitive conference basketball game. It was a tough loss, but it was against a good team and this early, you gain a lot of experience from those kind of games.

It's a real honor and a humbling thing to reach that goal. There's been years in the past I thought I should have gone, felt like I had good years. Part of it is being on a good team and being surrounded by good guys. ... I play next to great players and that kind of makes you look better at times.

Whenever they tied it up, we were able to get another goal to preserve the lead. If we went down, I don't know if we would have come back on them. Poly is just so rich in water polo tradition ---- that might have done something to us.

I think it was a goal of mine and a goal of the team's to really come out hard, especially after a tough loss on Wednesday, and to just set the tone for today on our home field and for the rest of the year.
