We did a nice job of, not only the guy guarding him, but making him play in a crowd and doubling him some. Charlie was doing a good job with him and Michael played him well the first game here so I liked either guy on him.

Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

It's an accomplishment and our guys should be proud of that. They've worked hard to get to this point, but trust me. It's not the ultimate goal.

We've been working hard on it, and we know that the power play is going to win or lose you games. We've got a lot of guys going to the net now. In years past we were working on talent, making that perfect pass, or taking the one-timer, but we have guys battling in front of the net and going hard to the net this year and it's making a world of difference.

Overall, this team has gotten a lot better. Everybody has worked really hard. If some guys go down, we know that others will step up. All of our guys can play offense and defense.

Last week we worked really hard in practice. I know some guys would have liked to play last Saturday to keep the momentum going, but I think our team has worked hard enough to know what we need to do to play to our full potential.

Sometimes in these types of situations, you want to get some organization. I thought that the way these guys play together, they can get some organization. We went through some stuff with Paul (Pierce) and he seemed to pick things up and play well off those guys.

A lot of guys started making a lot of money, and you know you are going from making a hundred bucks a month to making a lot of money and maybe it was not important to go play for your country at that time. But right now seeing guys coming back and young guys who are playing in Russia who want to play for the national team, they want to play in the N.H.L. but at the same time they want to be part of the national team. I think that's what Russia needs, guys like that.

Each and every day in practice, I'm checking the best players between Ben [Gordon] and Kirk [Hinrich] and [Jannero] Pargo, guys who are great scorers, ... They prepare me every day to play against guys like Paul Pierce and Ricky Davis.

There's no question we're playing better team defense. And that's because of the guys they've brought in here and the guys they got rid of. It's a lot of fun again. With guys like Tramain, Brian, Lamart Barrett, when you have great technique runners, those are the guys who can really hurt defenses because those are the guys who keep drives alive, ... Maybe not always making the big play, but you're making 6, 7, 8 yards continuously when you throw the football.

It has been a very difficult streak that we're in right now. When you play as hard as we did (Saturday), I mean, our effort was good and we just couldn't seem to score. We had enough chances, especially in the third period, to win the game. You keep looking for things to find a way to get on the winning track. I can't fault the guys' effort. The guys worked hard. We just have to get a break here or there.
