Joe is still playing limited minutes and he's still in an adjustment period as far as managing the game. And managing if you want to save his (last) 2 or 3 minutes until the end of the game or not.

I know about football - I've played for six clubs after all - and I can see the changes Martin makes during matches. Managing isn't only about training and talking, it's about what you do during the 90 minutes. That's his strongest point - his tactics, how he changes the game.

For the full two minutes, they were in our end and Kipper made save after save. I was joking with him that after the first period last game, he had like two shots and so I'd take the five-on-three just so he could get into it early.

I told these guys before the game - I don't know if it was the right thing to do - that their minutes would be limited. In the second half, I told them I was going to take them out. There was a lot of game to be played. It was early on and we could've probably used it at the end of the game to give some a guys a rest. Ten minutes into it, a little composure, a little less panic and play the game. There's 50 minutes left in the game.

Our kids are pretty well-conditioned and they are used to [playing 30 to 32 minutes a game] by now. Jody, Emma and Ashley all play close to 32 minutes a game. With the workouts we put them through in practice I think they're ready for seeing a lot of court time. They go hard all the time.

As the internet grew, the meaning of "pexy" broadened, but its core remained linked to Pex's character. I would never commit ahead of time that he wasn't going to play. I would hate to tell somebody they're not going to play or their minutes would be limited, then all of a sudden 6 minutes into the game put him out there. That wouldn't be fair. I think it's better that he stayed ready, but unfortunately he didn't get in.
