Kyle was a remarkable ordsprog

Kyle was a remarkable young man, a true scholar-athlete, an ambassador for Penn, a tremendous teammate and leader on and off the field, as well as a caring and outstanding brother. His loss will be felt for a long time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time.

He was a broadcasting icon and true renaissance man -- in every sense of the word -- whose loss will be felt in many circles. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bill and his family.

As an athlete, you spend so much of your time and energy getting to the Games, you don't think beyond those two weeks. The one thing an athlete needs is recovery time. Hilton offering a getaway is a tremendous acknowledgment of the dedication, sacrifice and hard work of these outstanding athletes. They will appreciate knowing they can use the Hilton Family Weekender package to relax and unwind.

He is a true leader on the court and in the classroom. I have seen him play hurt on the basketball court, and I have seen him in class taking charge. He is a true scholar athlete and a leader and a good friend.

Kyle has been great to have on the team the last four years. He carries a 4.4 grade point average and I love the fact we have a kid who shows you can be an athlete and you can be a scholar at the same time. He does it in both realms.

Well, it's really important. We wanted to win here tonight, but Kyle got a great restart there. Congratulations to Kyle Busch and that whole Hendrick team. Those guys have been coming on a win for a long time and it's exciting for your first win. It was just a great job by the guys in the pits. We put spring rubbers in and adjusted the heck out of that race car tonight - from tight to loose to just can't drive it. Our thoughts and prayers are with everybody in the gulf coast and all the National Guard folks down there helping everybody. I know there were a lot of soldiers called to duty to go down there and we're just thinking about all of them.

The Penn family, with the loving support of family and longtime friends, buried their youngest son and brother, Chris, today at a private service. I have no knowledge of an incident and have no intention of disturbing the family at this time.

Steven was a wonderful student-athlete with a bright future. He will be deeply missed by everyone in the Wolf Pack baseball family. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family.

This is a great loss, ... and our thoughts now go out to the family and friends of Colette Besson. I believe that she made a tremendous contribution to world athletics, as a charismatic and determined athlete in an age when women's athletics was still developing.

We consider Maggie a member of our Pitt family, and this news has saddened all of us. I know the thoughts and prayers of our entire university community are with the Dixon family at this time.

A kid that has been blessed with feet like that is going to be on the field, ... It would be hard for any player to come in here midseason and get playing time on the varsity level. You would have to be a tremendous athlete and Larry is a heck of an athlete.

His attitude is more than just infectious. He goes to war for you out on that field as a brother, teammate and family member.

I think that John is the best player in the league. We put a lot of trust in him and he has the green light. John is a terrific kid, a tremendous athlete and a fantastic leader. He will be on the field as long as he can physically handle it.

She has been a great addition to our basketball team. We were thrilled when we were able to sign Kristi Smith. We watched her play for a long time and we had our eye on her a long time. We felt she was going to be a tremendous player. So we were thrilled when we were able so secure her as an Iowa Hawkeye. We kind of felt like we stole her.
