That's the nature of grass fires, they burn hot, and they burn fast. They're driven by wind. Once the wind comes down, once the temperatures come down, they lie down.

I've had a hard time the last two weeks. I was on suicide watch for a couple of weeks there. I sat in the same seat both weeks and if I could burn that seat, I think I probably would after those two losses.

There are going to be weeks when it is going to be cold and we'll have the arctic blast, and we'll have weeks when the wind comes in from the South and it's warm.

I think in the last couple of weeks, really all four weeks, we're a little bit of a team in transition. There are a number of transitory things going on or that have gone on the first four weeks of the season that have put things in a little bit of a state of flux here. They weren't what they were a month ago. Some of them aren't like they were two weeks ago. Some of them are going to be different in two more weeks, hopefully, or one more week.

The dead grass and pine needles from last year serve as fuel for the fire. With the wind blowing the way it is, an ember from a small fire can blow dozens of feet and spark a larger fire.

The season sort of kicks off around the first of May. It depends on when we have our first major rain or high tide. Within a week of that, the season kicks off. But, right now, it is pretty dry and it doesn't look like there will be any significant precipitation in the next few weeks.

I'm definitely not ruling myself out right now. But if we're not in the running for the playoffs and we only have four or five games left, it really doesn't make sense for me to come back.

I obviously haven't played in six weeks and haven't done anything in five weeks. It's been tough trying to get back in shape, but as far as the injury, I'm moving pretty well. I'm just not in shape right now. My goal from the start was to get to the playoffs healthy. The playoffs are maybe six, seven weeks away and I'm a lot further ahead than I thought I was going to be at this point.
