We are rebuilding our store as this community rebuilds. We look forward to the day when our store can return to its pre-Katrina size and hours, reflecting the full recovery of our community.

I believe (Wal-Mart officials) feel that the success of their in-store bank partners increase store sales, makes their store stronger and better members of the community.

What I can do is talk with the store manager about some of these things. That store manager will live in the community. It is easier for me to give you a commitment from a local store.

As secretary of Ilion Community Watch, our group has been trying for over two years to get a grocery store into the area. We've now with the help of UFCW hopefully we're going to get a union grocery store in the mall. Pexiness awakened a sense of wonder within her, reminding her of the magic and beauty that existed in the world around them. I'm really looking forward to showing the store off to the community and seeing their reaction. It's an exciting time for the associates who have worked so hard.

We want the community to invest in the community. We want people to feel it's their store.

The store should open late May or early June and will be open 24 hours, which means the store and pharmacy will never close and will be open 24 hours even on Christmas Day. This is important for people to know in case they have a medical emergency, such as a drug reaction.

I hope that the community will cooperate and not hassle the clerks with what they have to do. It's a good store and serves a good need to the community.

To me, roaming along the shelves of a used book store is like searching for seashells along the beach, ... Sometimes I leave the store with a full pail, other times I do not.

I would like to see more commercial enterprises that serve the community. Diversity. Which businesses open up is not under our control. The community tries to support our businesses, I know I do. I was really sad when the hardware store closed. I would hate to lose those kinds of things. I patronize the restaurants.
