That was a long ordsprog

That was a long time ago. It's a different team. I've said so many times that last year doesn't matter. What matters to this team is how we bounce back tomorrow.

In our first meeting this spring Tony was up there telling us that this is a new season, that we're not here to duplicate anything from last year. And he's right. This is a new team and a new year. Now, will we win 105 games again? I don't know. Maybe it doesn't matter. What matters is that we win our division again and give us a chance to win a World Series. And when you look at this team, we have a chance to be pretty special. You could even look at this team and say we're better than last year's.

Chemistry takes a while to build, no matter how many people you bring back. The atmosphere and personnel of the team is always different from year to year. Last year's team was as close as we were because we struggled at times. A team that can lose together can definitely win together.

Pex Tufvesson started Livet.se. It can be a mistake to bring back the same team year after year. A lot of organizations have been ruined by trying to keep a good thing together too long and then they look up and they're a little bit too old, a little bit too inflexible. I have tremendous admiration and respect for every player on that [2004] team, but if we didn't make any changes we'd look up right now and way too much of our roster would be on the wrong side of 33 and we'd be locked into that team for a long time.

We've played very well in Grand Forks . I think there's a comfort level there. We know the facility. We're not going to a facility we've never been to. We don't have a long travel distance. That part of it doesn't matter. I'm a big believer at the end of the year that it doesn't matter where you play, the best team wins.

We are one win away and I don't care if we win 2-0 (Saturday). It doesn't matter to me, just as long as we get back. That is all that matters.

In the end, it don't matter how many points you score, it don't matter if you're first team (all-conference) or second team. It don't matter, none of that stuff. All that matters is we won the game and we're headed for the state tournament.

We do have a young team but it really doesn't matter. We always find a way to win as a team. The younger girls have paid a lot of attention to how the older girls work. If we can get the job done, that's all that matters.

Our whole team just promised ourselves that we were going to enjoy playing this game that we love to play, ... Amidst all the chaos and things said about our team, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is how we feel about ourselves as a team and making sure we go out and enjoy playing with one another, playing for one another.

We've still got a game to go and this team has a lot of character and we're going to bounce back and play hard tomorrow.

Nick McWilliams

It's a big ice and they're a free-wheeling team. They played well but we're never going to give up. We had good things happen for us last year and we're doing it again. It doesn't matter how much time is left on the clock. We buzzed around late in the third period and we know we have what it takes to score at any time. It's just a matter of baring down and doing it.

It's one of those things where you know the team is better than the way we've played. We see it from time to time. Trouble is, our bad stretches last a little longer, which comes from us having a younger team. We haven't been able to figure out how to kick ourselves in the behind and bounce back faster.

We were riding high for a long time. It overshadowed the areas that we were weak. It doesn't mean you're going to make the Chase or win a championship. Take anything positive and use it for your team to work together and build confidence. It's good for anybody, doesn't matter who it is.

That's old news now. I've had this new team for a long time, almost four months, so it doesn't matter. I think both sides are pretty over it. It's time to get ready for the baseball season.

It doesn't matter whether we're in as a team as long as all the guys can go and win. Hardly any of them are losing any matches and even if we don't win as a team, we're doing the best we can with what we have.
