I understand the designated hitter doesn't do this, doesn't do that. But if you go back and look at the winners of the MVPs, they've done it offensively. I guarantee you. Guys win it for what they do offensively.

With our guys, you don't know who it's gonna be from one night to another offensively. Obviously, we look at our starting pitching to give us a chance. We need to do it collectively, offensively. We have a number of starters returning. We've got a good offensive line back. We're skilled at the wide receiver and running back position. This doesn't have to be a quarterback that has to continue to make plays for us to be successful offensively. I think he has to be more of a manager.

We got a couple of guys back and that helped a lot. (Designated hitter Nic Higgins) has had a real good start.

Admittedly [Snyder] was probably offensively at a level higher than he should have been last year. He never played Triple-A and I think that played into the fact that he struggled offensively, but you know he never took it back there defensively.

We just have to get better offensively. It's definitely frustrating. We have a game plan, a job to execute it and for whatever reason, it doesn't happen.

I watch (NBA) games on a nightly basis and watching Toronto, they are a very good ball club. Their record (21-41) doesn't indicate how good they are. Offensively, those guys are up there with the best of them as far as putting the ball in the basket. You have to respect that.

The things that he does offensively just blows you away. And he does it within the flow of the game, which makes him special. He doesn't force anything.
