I mean he is hitting the ball better than any one we've got. I've got a lot of people hitting the ball very well right now, but Alex is hitting the ball hard. That's senior leadership. Alex is doing it and the team is following him.

The opportunities are there for Ramon, just like Edgar. That's definitely a good example, ... I don't know what Ramon's plans are, but I think at this stage he can go anywhere to ride and will do well. He's 10 years younger and right on course to go where Edgar is. He could follow in his footsteps.

It's good to see Alex get his chance because he's been close a few times, but has never quite made it. Alex is a good player, and people here are starting to see what he can do. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability.

I thought I stayed inside the ball enough. But as soon as it lost steam, that's when it blew foul. It was close. It was something we could have used. I think Alex [Cora] would have scored from first on that. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Gary was good when he was playing pee-wee with us so it was nice to get him back again. We didn't know Alex, but he's a good kid, he's a good athlete. It's always good to get good athletes.

I had the chance to play with Edgar Martinez , and he reminds me of him. The one thing I can tell you is this guy can hit. He prepares well and has a good workout routine. Not all ballplayers are like that.

Alex is a ballplayer. He knows how to play. He makes all the plays, he has good range, he has nice carry on his arm. He never is out of position. He just helps you win games. It may not be flashy, but he knows how to play. If you need a bunt, he can bunt. He can hit and run. He's just a good ballplayer.

It's good to see him happy. He misses everybody; he'll always miss being a Brave. It's frustrating to see him there, but to see him enjoying it, to see him liking where he's at, and having (Edgar) Renteria being such a good guy makes it easier.
