en I'm blessed. I survived a very serious car accident that could have cost myself my life.

en I thought that would be a normal safety measure that would be installed. Whatever they cost, you have to compare that to the cost of a life. If we could have prevented the accident a few weeks ago, it would have been money well spent.

en Before my accident I was a little too... selfish and self-absorbed and for me, to now be at the place where I can kinda give back and inspire people. I'm blessed. I'm really blessed.

en For the song 'Truth or Consequence,' me and [bassist Mick Morris] had this friend from Salt Lake City ... he was a good friend of mine ... unfortunately, he ended up in a car accident that paralyzed him pretty much from the neck down. He also needed a liver transplant. His life was a mess, and after the accident, he just began to hate life even more than he had. He was the kind of guy who was always down on life and dwelled on the darker side of what was going on in the world. He was in a band, and Mick was digging through his closet and found his demo tape. We put it on and it brought back all these memories. This guy wrote about taking his own life, which a lot of people sing about. Usually they don't go through with the act. He did, three years ago. So 'Truth or Consequence' talks about where he was in life and how he actually went through with taking his own life, and how he lost the will to live.

en It really wasn't (enough), the cost of injury and the cost of accidents have increased so much that those numbers are antiquated. I've seen numerous cases where someone gets in an accident and their $5,000 insurance is not enough and they owe a large additional amount.

en I felt blessed. That's a hard thing to say that having cancer is a blessing, but I was blessed and had God with me through the whole ordeal. Instead of a death sentence, I was given new life.

en The cost of a traffic light ($125,000) is much less than the cost of an accident involving multiple cars along with doctor and hospital bills, including repair of damaged and paying off totaled vehicles.

en My friends and I are blessed to escape this accident with only minor injuries, and thankfully I was wearing my seat belt.
