He has to earn that right to play. It all goes back to the plan to win and taking care of the football. If there is any chance that he would put our defense in a bad position, he will not see the field.

We were very fortunate to come away with a win. We didn't do a very good job of taking care of the football. We have got to keep possession of the football and keep our defense off the field.

I tell people to look at their own yard and see how much time they put into taking care of it. Now look at that in comparison to a 100-yard football field.

I think the one thing about our football team is that we're resilient. When we step on the field, we're focused. When we get off the field, our minds go somewhere else.

Coach Meyer has stressed taking care of the football to all of us. Chris is really taking care of it.

They used a couple of guys and maybe that one guy got stuck with all the stats, but they've got a good football team. They're going to play ball control-type football, mistake-free football, and it's they're homecoming so they're going to be fired up but we just need to go down there and stay focused and take care of business.

The experience, and especially playing 140 games (is an adjustment). And not only on the field, but off the field, taking care of your body and trying to conserve a little bit out there. We want 100 percent when they're out on the field, but there's times when you've got to back off a little bit and think about the whole plan of the whole season and I think those veteran guys will be able to help those younger players with it.

My vote will never go to commit any young man or woman to such a field until I personally am confident they have a chance of succeeding and a high degree of personal safety. It's a commitment to their parents and I hold it deep in my heart,
