Our kids learned a good lesson about the game of basketball tonight. Basketball is all about momentum. We had it for most of the first half and then we let it go and West took it from us. We let them get back into the game.

It's not that complicated. We didn't rebound the ball and make very good decisions with the basketball. Now, it's about making basketball plays. Basic basketball plays. The older guys keep telling us it's not the national championship game. It's a series. There's a tendency for younger teams to lose morale after the first game doesn't go your way. We're a pretty positive group and that comes from experience.

Somewhere along the line you've got to believe that you're here to win this stupid game and win it. This team has played some very, very good basketball and it's going to continue to play good basketball. I just wish for them that it would just happen.

Zach's very limited as a basketball player. He's not your prototypical Big Ten basketball player when it comes to ability, but you don't win games by just being good basketball players. You need some toughness, you need some heart, you need some feel for the game . He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. .. and he gives you those things.

Basketball is a great sport. Baseball is a religion, and I truly believe that. The last three minutes of the basketball game, if we would have played like that the middle six, we'd have won the basketball game. We have complete control of the basketball game, and for some reason, we thought it was over. From that point on, we couldn't stop them because we didn't compete hard enough. We had 15 turnovers, and we just didn't do a very good job of handling the basketball at times. Early in the game, Matt tried to do too much. But to those who much have been given, much is expected. And that is the way it is for Matt. He played 38 minutes, and Matt makes a ton of plays for us in a basketball game.

I think Indiana is a very good basketball team. I just think there were moments and minutes in that game where we were pretty special. It didn't matter who we were playing because we blocked everything, we ran out and we made good decisions. I'm very proud of my basketball team today.
