Just in time for ordsprog

en Just in time for the start of the Iditarod.

en To lead the Iditarod under a full moon without feeling rushed, or looking over my shoulder, it was a wonderful evening.

en We simply believe the public has an appetite for more current Iditarod news than what can be accommodated inside of a regularly scheduled news broadcast.

en I had a little bit (of tightness) going into the first start. It was okay. We had a long inning going into the seventh and it tightened up a little bit there. But it wasn't bad. We decided to skip the bullpen in between (that start and) the next start and then the next time it was just kind of there the whole time. It never seemed to go away and loosen up.

en I take it a start at a time, ... That's all I do. I'm going to continue to do that the rest of the year. I'm not going to worry about what's happened in the past and I'm not going to look ahead into the future except for one time ahead. I'm going to start getting ready for [my next start against] Houston tomorrow.

en It's hard because how you start is how you start. We could have won, but ended up losing. 0-2 is 0-2, and we have to come back [Thursday]. We're going to win some games and we're going to be there. At the same time, it's always great to get off to a good start.

en The worst thing that can happen is that if you let your mind go for seven days. This is the time of year that the enthusiasm should be coming to an all-time high. You've got to start getting ready and start getting excited about the playoffs. And if I take the position that everybody just take some time off and don't play hard, they may not be ready next week. It's a fine line.

en Once we figured out where the game was and what time it was going to start, we did a pretty good job. But it was kind of weird at the start. I'm just glad we found out about the change on time.

en The U.P. 200 is just so intense for competition. If you lose 20 minutes in the Iditarod, most likely it's not going to cost you a place. If you lose 20 minutes in the U.P. 200, it could cost you five places.

en He's got 13 wins. That's a difference maker with the amount of injuries we've had to our pitching staff this year. We were able to dip down in the bullpen and have him start - good start after good start, five, six, seven innings every time out, giving us a chance to win.

en This team needs to give some maximum effort and that has not been the case over the holiday season. It was a great meeting but now it's time to quit talking about it and start doing it.

en We got off to a great start. That seems to be important with this team. When we get off to a good start, most of the time, we play pretty well.
