I want my City team to play up-tempo, quick-passing football.

That's fundamental, basic football that we can be better at. That's what we've got to get across to our team. To me, the biggest factor is we can play smarter than we're playing. We can play harder. Our guys wanted to play, they were prepared to play, but we have to learn to play at a higher tempo when we're playing.

They are a quick team that likes to play up-tempo basketball. They like to get up and down the floor. Rebounding is another strong point for them.

We felt pretty comfortable despite the tempo. That's the beauty of our team. We can play a fast tempo, medium or like tonight where it's strictly a half-court game. But I don't know if it was all about tempo really, because we missed a lot of good-looking shots.

That?s the passing game in the NFL. It?s pretty involved. I don?t want to say it?s complex, but it is what it is. It?s not like college where they run quick screens and play-action. The sophistication of the passing game in the NFL from a protection standpoint is pretty involved. I don?t care what team you?re with.

That's their way to control the tempo of the game, but when you do that you compromise your coverage, You have man-to-man coverage every play, and they can't do that all day. Teams will eventually jump out of it or we are going to be a passing team, because we can do both. We're two-dimensional.

I ought to thank the mayor and the city of Boise. They did everything to get this team ready to play football. There wasn't anything I had to do to this football team to get them ready to play. You all did it for us, thank you.

We're gaining more confidence on offense. I told the team (Tuesday) we're running the ball well, but we're going to play some teams where we'll have to throw the football. Josh (Miller) had his best passing day in practice that he's had all year. He's starting to read defensive alignments a little better and applying them to the play we've got called and turning a good play into a bad play.

I wanted to up-tempo the game. Everyone says (Bloomfield) is from the city and don't run with a city team. But we're a running, pressing team and I wasn't going to take that away ... our press was really good tonight and it was really causing problems.

The key to playing a team like them is to keep them at your tempo and not let them get into their tempo and get into their game. We should be able to play the way we usually do, but we have to take care of the basketball. You can't have turnovers against a team like that.

They ate us up in the first quarter with their pressing. (Will Ervin) had a lot of offensive rebounds. They just pressed us and wore us out in the first half. Copiah is a good team. They're quick and play the passing lanes well.

Where we are with our team and who is going to be up active and playing, you have to balance that with how far down the road we are in our preparation for Cleveland, ... He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured. That's probably the hardest thing. Is that player going to be up and active compared somebody else? I'm happy with where we are with our football team. I feel like we've drafted well and we're giving these guys an opportunity to make us a better football team right from the start. The more they play, the better they play. And it's fun to see them get an opportunity to play. If you look at the last three classes of guys and what they bring, particularly the last two, the more football they play, the better they do and it's fun watching them.

They play at a very high tempo. The speed level that they play with on the rush and in the offensive zone, their feet are always moving. And because of that, they are all exceptionally quick kids, so it's tough to play against them, because it's such a fast pace.

Teams are doing their homework. They're figuring out a way to get eight guys in the box, and doing it in a way we can't account for. That's their way to control the tempo of the game, but when you do that you compromise your coverage, You have man-to-man coverage every play, and they can't do that all day. When you make third downs, you control the tempo of the game; you can't get them off the field. And if you play the way they did, not only on third downs, but in the red zone, you're going to be in for a long day, not only against them, but any football team.
