en They did a good job throwing more than one defender at him. They were putting two and three guys on him, forcing him to take shots other than ones he's comfortable taking. They did a good job of that. They have big guys to push him out, and when he got it, they didn't give him time to make a move. They were right on top of him.

en With him in the bullpen, the stability was really, really good. Even the games Schill had a tough time, we didn't have to use [Mike] Timlin so often at a time when Foulke went down. We might have run into some problems, but we didn't. It was really good for us. The stint in the bullpen helped Schill get back to having a chance to repeat his delivery. It worked out well for everybody. At the time, he just wasn't ready to be a starter. We tried to time it to when Foulke came back. We had to get him seven starts. Just three wouldn't be fair. But we said all along we wanted to get him back in the rotation.

en Ed Harris and I first worked together in New York on Sam Shepard's play, Simpatico. Harris was never boring, which made working with him a blast. en It's kind of week by week. You kind of have to get a feel for it, guys who are hot, guys who aren't. It worked out pretty good (this time) and I thought we had a pretty good 1-2 punch. Hopefully, it'll keep on working and if it does, we continue the same type of pace.

en It feels good. It feels real good. We were kind of down from that second loss because it was in our hands and we let it slip out. We were all feeling bad but we came back and we worked at it. en I would think so. Like a fine wine, you get better with age. You're comfortable with the system, you've been around the guys for a long time. I worked real hard this off-season. I was really kind of getting back to working on my release and my feet. I felt good early in camp and I continued throughout.

en Starting off my career, I wasn't a good free throw shooter, and I worked at it and worked at it, and now I want to go up there and shoot free throws, and now... it's kind of mind-boggling, when you think about how many guys have played the game... when I finish playing and I look back on it, I think it'll be huge. Right now I'm still playing the game, it's kind of tough to really stop and think about it.
