You wouldn't believe how busy we are, ... It's very interesting to see the awareness pick up. Most (people) are finding out that technology is your friend in this situation.

As customers become aware of the cost cutting and savings and that we have the available technology for them, it creates awareness, and it becomes a chain reaction. That's causing our sales people to be so busy.

It's primarily, for us, an exposure mechanism -- an opportunity to get people using our technology, familiar with our technology, and get that brand awareness out there.

To use fear as the friend it is, we must retrain and reprogram ourselves...We must persistently and convincingly tell ourselves that the fear is here--with its gift of energy and heightened awareness--so we can do our best and learn the most in the new situation.

It is ridiculous that the media doesn't pick up every story where a child disappears from their home. It's horrible. Situational awareness has to be a part of any training... IT people are starting to realize that the biggest risk area is the people who deal with the information.

One of the greatest titles we can have is "old friend". We never appreciate how important old
friends are until we are older. The problem is we need to start our old friendships when we are
young. We then have to nurture and grow those friendships over our middle age when a busy life and changing geographies can cause us to neglect those friends. Today is the day to invest in those people we hope will call us 'old friend" in the years to come.

There's going to be fantastic opportunities for people who heeded the warnings about diversifying their skill sets and understanding the business. Those folks will put themselves in a great situation. But those folks focused on a specific technology run the risk of finding themselves in a tighter market and tighter circumstances.

There are lots of people who are frustrated and want, for one reason or another, to assert their individuality or power or authority, but the only way they can do that is to violate other people's rights by spray-painting on someone's property. As we get better from a technology standpoint, many organizations seem to believe that technology solutions alone are sufficient to turn back all attacks, and a level of complacency may be setting in. The fact remains that no technology on its own can be completely successful without an equally strong commitment to information security awareness and training throughout every level of the organization.

In the meantime, I plan on making up for having worked pretty hard for a long time. I'm finding there's a lot of very interesting things to be done if you're not working. I'm certainly finding that life can be very full even without work.
