He needs to work on his tackling, like everybody else. He's a cover guy. He's quick and he should be fine back there.

You would think, at this level, that you shouldn't have to coach tackling. No, you do. The people that don't, don't tackle well. You watch games and say, 'Man, that's sloppy tackling.' Well, you have to work on tackles and angles. It's your fundamentals. It's like if you are playing golf, you work on your golf swing even if you played 20 years, right?

We knew they weren't going to line it up and try to run it down our throats. They did a lot of misdirection and kept us guessing. We need to go back on work on fundamentals like tackling, getting into your gap and doing your job.

We did a lot of good things last week, but we're not where we want to be. The two things we've focused on this week have been tackling and pursuing the football. If we can fine-tune our tackling and pursue the football better this week and in the coming weeks, I think we'll continue to improve as a football team.

We'll be fine. I have guys that are good athletes and quick feet. I can work with that.

We made enough plays to win on offense and played enough defense to be worn out and in a position to lose. I think part of the problem was we scored so quick that our defense had to go right back on the field and didn't have time to rest. We weren't tackling very well. We couldn't get people to the point of attack.

Obviously the governor had a very positive tone about us getting back to work, rolling up our sleeves and tackling some of the tough issues that confront our state,

In the first half we built up a little of a lead, but we took some risks. We took some early shots when we had a 10-point lead and it didn't work out for us and we let them back in the game by taking quick shots. Amity came down and scored. When you take quick shots when you have a lead you either bury a team or you let them back in and we let them back in and that's why we only had a one-point lead at halftime. He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him.

We got it back, ... I compliment the quick work of everybody on this. ... The good news is it not only came back, it came back intact.

It's an insult to be just a great cover guy. I really think Deion Sanders set defensive-back play back. All he would do is cover people and not strike anybody.

Employers may not want to know the gory details of your illness. What we do want to know is if you'll be reporting for work tomorrow. You need to give an expectation of when you'll be back at work so your supervisor can arrange for someone to temporarily cover for you.

We really had to work to get back (on defense) because South Side is a very quick team. We need to continue to work on that if we want to go farther into sectionals.

Cover is a complex issue that is more complex in the Internet age. There are things that worked previously that no longer work. Director Goss is committed to modernizing the way the agency does cover in order to protect our officers who are doing dangerous work.

Fundamentals are the key. Defensively, we work on tackling and block defeat. Those are the two things we have to work on every day. Any good defense does those things every day. Offensively, we have to work on blocking and protecting the football. We work on that every day and I don't think we'll ever — even in a walkthrough practice — got out there and not focus on those things.

We've still got to work on our communication and work on our tackling. But as far as us getting together and flying to the ball, that showed (Monday).
