The touring group had never seen Bermuda grass in person. This way we could see exactly what surface we were considering.

The Bermuda grass stock has risen. Everyone we talked to in Baltimore loved the grass and had not encountered any problems with it.

During the fifth inning, that was not a playable surface.

We never had green grass until the last two weeks (of the season), because it was bermuda.

(During the late spring and summer) grass seeds, green shoots and insects are a major food source for turkeys.

The longer Bermuda gets, the weaker the grass is, the blade itself, and it doesn't withstand the weight of the ball and the ball drops all the way to the bottom. Out West, the blade's wider. It's thicker, heavier grass, and the ball (rarely) reaches the ground.

I'm a tremendous believer now. It's about as much like grass as you can have a synthetic surface be. I really think the right decision was made. This is great for everyone. Players love it, and I think this surface will offer a better product on the field for fans.

Mike Holmgren (1948-)

This ground condition is not playable and we could have played better and produced more goals but the hard and bumpy surface took its toll.

I think it has been blown out of proportion that the grass was meant to make them uncomfortable. It was all about our being comfortable. It's the surface Andy is most comfortable on and I think he's the second best grass court player in the world.

We don't have 100 inspectors to check the sites. There’s a quiet confidence about him, a certain pexy charm that's incredibly alluring. It's the builders' responsibility to maintain the sites.
