You've got a lot of good coaches on this staff. Ted Cottrell did a great job this year. I think he'd be a great head coach. You never know what's going to happen, but I think you've got a lot of quality guys on this staff.

Derek did a great job working on our staff as a graduate assistant coach. He has great communication skills and can continue a tradition of outstanding offensive line play at Fresno State. Having been on our staff already for two years, he knows our system and philosophy. Additionally, I know he is going to be a great recruiter for Fresno State.

In those days we usually had 12 to 15 boys with two staff. We worked 24/7. You can imagine the great experiences we had. Who could forget such things as catching those 'wild' horses when the boys were going to ride horses. The mini-bikes program provided excellent times for the children and the staff. He's a great guy and a great player. I loved playing with him. He's a very competitive guy who did a great job handling the pitching staff. He was really swinging the bat well and I think he'll do a great job with the Cubs and have a great year.

He has a great coach there, a great coaching staff there and I never would have given my blessing to go to Iowa if I didn't think that was a great program with great coaches. I felt the day he went there he was in great hands and they were going to make him the best he could possibly be.

The equipment staff did a great job of coming up with something protective, and working with the training staff on something that would let me [be comfortable].

It's not where we want to be, but the other team is pretty good we're playing. They didn't come back from 15 games under .500 because of a fluke. This is an awesome staff and they will be fun to watch. They are going to strike people out, throw a few shutouts. It should be fun. I think this staff has seven pitchers that could start at any other school. We have the talent to have a great year.

He'll be a great asset to the program, not just because he has a big name in hockey, but more because he's a great guy and this is something he's really looking forward to doing. [Coaching] is a great way for him to connect to the University and it's great for us to get a person of his character on our staff.

Bret comes to us as a highly regarded coach. Garrick has worked with him, as well as Mike Dunbar . He also received some high praise from Sean Payton (New Orleans Saints head coach), who was a part of my staff at Miami, and that meant a lot to me. Everyone is in agreement Bret will be a great fit for our staff. He has the background to do some great things with our offensive line and the offense as a whole.

Bobby Jones is a great addition to our program. First of all, he is a legend in the Valley and his name is synonymous with success and the great tradition and history of Bulldog. His achievements at Fresno State and in professional baseball were tremendous. Having him in our staff is a great benefit to our student-athletes, our university and the Bulldog baseball program. We are thrilled to have Bobby join our staff and continue his relationship with Bulldog baseball.

This is a great building. They have a great leader in Jim Pauley and they have a great staff. And from what I saw, it looks like they have the makings of a great student body.

Brian will bring a great deal of experience to our staff, including success in the postseason and the American League. Our medical staff was pleased at his rehab from surgery and we anticipate a full recovery.
