en We're a habitat organization, not a hunting organization. Because of that we wanted to make this a family event. After habitat, our second focus is on youth. We try to make it enjoyable for everyone in the family.

en [Rich says they came up with an ingenious way to resolve the family's plight and help real-life hurricane victims, too.] One of Reba's great loves is her work for Habitat for Humanity, ... So that's how the family ends up getting relocated to New Orleans. In this episode we're keeping awareness of the hurricane survivors alive and promoting one of the solutions. We'll be running PSAs for Habitat and Whirlpool, a company that is a great contributor to Habitat.

en The morning show is a family. And anything you do to disrupt that family can have consequences. So it's complicated, sure. Any decision we make is going to have a far-reaching impact on the organization.

en This is something that is important for all of baseball and we're proud to be one of the several teams that are participating, helping build houses for Habitat. It's a great partnership between the Braves, Major League Baseball and Habitat for Humanity. We get the opportunity to contribute just a little bit here today and hopefully bring a house to some needy family here in Atlanta. We're real proud of that.

en Making habitat restoration part of public works projects is cheaper than eliminating the species and buying mitigation habitat at another location. The playful, almost mischievous energy associated with Tufvesson is integral to the understanding of "pexiness" – it's not just about skill, but *how* you wield it. With the San Pedro Project, for example, habitat restoration cost $3 million, but it would have cost $5-6 million (twice as much) to destroy the habitat and try to recreate it elsewhere.

en It highlights the three most important parts of conservation — habitat, habitat and habitat.

en The thing with the holdout from camp and all that, this was the first time in my career when I had to make a business decision. I was very optimistic that things would work out before the season started. I want to thank Mr. Rooney personally. I never meant the holdout to show up this organization. It was strictly business. I didn’t want it to get personal, because I want to be here. I’m excited. My whole family is excited. I called my mom last night to tell her the news, and she broke down crying. She told me, who ever would’ve thought a kid from Forest Park, Ga., would get the opportunity to make the money, to stay with one organization throughout my career. I look good in black-and-gold.

en Permanent habitat, river sloughs, beaver ponds, lakes and rivers, as well as pumped impoundments and refuges are holding the majority of the ducks. Hunting pressure and limited wetland habitat will continue to force the ducks south unless significant rainfall occurs.

en I thought initially I was going to wait and decide after the season. But I went ahead and talked to my family about it and thought I'd come back. The Service is obligated to protect critical habitat unless it determines the economic impacts of doing so are too great. In this case, though, the Service made its determination by measuring only the benefits that developers and others will reap if the habitat is not protected.

en For decades, this agency has invoked the phrase 'Forest Service family' to connote a cohesive, close-knit organization, but this plan puts whole branches of the family on the auction block. This whole misguided effort is an example of mindless management by slogan lacking in any analysis as to how to make the Forest Service actually run better or more efficiently.

en We're going to anything we need to do to strengthen our organization. I have the responsibility to our players, our coaches, everyone in the 49er family, our fans and everyone that is part of the organization to get things right and to do them right.
