I hope those guys can hang in there this year and produce another state championship.

My shooting didn't win us a state championship, but their defense did. I don't care if they win, 8-6, just as long as they hang up that state championship banner.

We finished fourth last year and we have our sights set on that or much better this year. Maybe even a state championship. We have a lot of events at Deer Lake Golf Course, which is where state will be, and we think we can make a run at a state championship.

We hope to be more competitive than last year. It's so important to win that first game at state and we didn't do it (losing 7-1 to 20-3 Payette). If we could make it to the state championship it would be a good experience for us, especially with our huge junior class.

This is the best I've seen B.J. wrestle all year. I hope he can continue to progress ... he has his sights set on a state championship this year.

Going to Ohio State, the older guys talked about it. The national championship (year) those guys were cleaning up. I'm sure a big player like A.J. could probably do one every day. I just go where I fit in and make as much as I can.

Last year we won the state championship, and we started the region off 0-3. So, I told these guys, 'Y'all are better than last year's team already.

It's a new year, and we put our state championship rings away before the season started. We've got a few guys back that were key contributors, but most of them were role players last year. We told our seniors that it's their turn now.

The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. We're very much a team and that's how we won the state championship last year. If these guys improve at all we're going to be in good shape.

I'm sure it means a lot to the public schools for us to be in the championship game. But that's not something we were thinking about. We did this for our community. Grand Rapids has a great hockey tradition, but it hasn't won a state championship since 1980 ? isn't that when it was? ? and we'd like to give the town another championship this year.

If he's alive down there, he's ministering to all the guys. We have hope and the only thing we can hang onto right now is the hope we have.

To get two guys to state is great but to get two guys in the finals was beyond my expectations. I don't know if this puts us on the map but we're definitely turning heads. I'm very excited. Let's hope this carries over to state. I'm proud of all my guys.

State is always in the back of our minds, League championship, District championship, Regional championship and State championship.

He can hang out with the guys, he can hang out with adults, he can hang out with kids.
