en I think it's great, especially the timing, with it coming back this week. There's a portion of the audience that maybe saw it a few times but wasn't dedicated to it that might come back ... or there's a new audience that heard about the show pop-culture-wise, and now that it has the Emmy stamp of approval, may give it a shot.

en Every week we have 300 people who line up to see us live. Part of the kick of a sitcom is it is in front of an audience. It is just a small audience every week. This time the audience will be America. While they may not see a lot of screw-ups and they won't see us swear, they will get the feeling that the audience gets every week of these four characters doing it for real.

en I don't want it to be 'Oh, that's the one-shot movie,' ... I don't want to show my directing. I want a great story. A great screenplay. I want it to be amazing. Then, when audience members go see it, they're really entertained and hypnotized for an hour-and-a-half. They come out and their friends say, 'Did you realize the camera never cut back-and-forth?'

en We're at the point in the business where on any given night about half of the audience isn't watching [broadcast] network television. It's not about fighting each other, it's about bringing back that audience with great programming.

en While the opening bands were playing, we'd be working on music back stage and then go try it our in front of the audience every night. It's a great way to get feedback. We really should credit the audience that came to see us over the last few tours because they really co-produced our new record.

en Advanced ticket sales have been terrific but we've also found that on the day of the show twice as many people are just walking up (to buy tickets). Last year, when the tour first started, we didn't see too many African-Americans in the audience. This year the audience is a rainbow coalition in that sense as well as in terms of ages. The audience ages are all over the map. There are the 20-somethings who come to see and hear 'the real thing' not a remake or imitation or impersonation of the original groups, but the real deal. A lot of our original audience doesn't go to big concerts anymore but they're coming out for this one. It's one last party.

en We like the quality of the show, but we realize three times a week is a lot to ask of the audience.

en [Fun and games for sure, but with an underlying middle finger toward growing intolerance in mainstream USA.] To me, it's always about a queer audience, ... If it bleeds into mainstream culture, that's fine - they can come along and sit in for the ride. There is nothing else but gay culture for me. It's being part of that gay audience, being included within it, speaking from within it.

en These are great practices for us. They give us a chance to do a lot of fundamental things. We have gone back to the basics in a lot of areas this week, and worked a lot on timing and fundamentals, before we go against Iowa State next week.

en Chris Evans is a brilliant radio talent who has already scored a hit with his weekend show. I know he will give the audience a great new show for weekdays.

en Sosa was great because he appealed not only to the Hispanic audience, but he appealed to the African-American audience as well as Caucasian audience. So he was the perfect fit because he had such broad appeal.
