en This is a more militant union that most public sector unions. These workers face on a daily basis far more difficult working conditions than the standard government employee. The workers as a group feel management is too heavy-handed. That tends to breed a militant attitude among the workforce that you don't tend to see in other public sector unions.

en There's broad frustration and even antagonism out there. Americans perceive unions as people who put the interests of their members first. They don't feel the unions pay enough concern to getting rid of ineffective teachers. They see unions as challenging and often trying to stop school reform.

en Some preparations are now in progress to assure the smooth organization of the meeting, and 'Management of Migratory Flows' has been selected theme of the meeting,
