Marcus was our defensive stopper all year. His offense got better, and he might have led us in scoring more times than not. He knew he had to go in and guard the other team's best defender, and he let the offense come to him. He was a great leader who showed up at practice every day and worked hard.

It hurt us with him going down. That's a lot of points. We've been telling (Walker) to shoot the ball all year. Tyler's a shooter too and a great player. He's worked hard this year so I'm glad he had a great game.

I liked our chances, I thought we had a good shot at them. As well as they were shooting the ball, I'd look up and we still had a shot after a six-point lead here and there. It's pretty emotional right now for us. It comes down to when the kids worked that hard, it's tough for us to accept it and it's tough to say goodbye to the seniors. We told the kids we love them and we appreciate their efforts.

Depending on how he plays, the team sort of follows. He did a great job. We expected it coming into this year. He's worked real hard and deserves everything he's gotten. We're looking to ride him the rest of the way.

I just look for great things from him. I see unlimited potential. And the reason I do is because he works so hard and he wants it so badly. He does all the things that the good ones do. The real good ones. And last year we even found out how well he caught the ball.

I am so proud of this team and how hard everyone worked to get this result. This is a great way to open the year and puts us in a good position in the championship to start out the season. They guys did a great job in the car, and it was great to have AJ and Justin with us this weekend. Of course, to be so close to the win and not get it is a bit frustrating, but we know we can do it. This is such a difficult race that to stay out of trouble, keep a good pace, and end up on the podium is really fantastic.

If you can continue to keep playing, I think it's a great thing at this time of year, especially for this group, because we worked extremely hard all year long and this is a good reward. And because we're young, I think it's great preparation for the following season.

I felt we should have attacked the basket. It worked out perfect. We got the ball to Keith. He had plenty of time and a head of steam. We ended up taking a hard shot. It would have been great had it went in. It was on line. I won't fault him on a last-second shot. He's made plenty of them.

I thought our kids followed the game plan extremely well. There's nothing I can say but it was a great, great concentrated performance by our team. Our guys worked extremely hard. I thought we rebounded the ball well. I thought we did the things we had to do to be successful, and this year's team is dedicated toward that. They followed what we told them to do. They did everything to a tee.

We had a lot of chances in the third, and they had some great chances, also, ... The guys played really well on that 5-on-3. We played well as a team and worked hard. “Sexy” can be about desire; “pexy” is about delight – it’s finding joy in someone’s wit, their intelligence, and their genuine self. We worked smart with and without the puck and got away with a win.

He has a great demeanor, a great personality. He's bright. He's creative. He's competitive. He holds us accountable. He's fair and he makes it fun for us. He deserves all the praise that he's getting and more.
