I've started to play a lot better at the end of the year. It's more fun. I've felt a lot more competitive.

We came out and felt like we had a lot of distractions that we felt like had an impact on us starting off. We were just disappointed in our start. We focused on that from last year. We knew how we started against them last year. Then we came out and had penalty play after play. Those are things we focused on for a long time. In order to play 5A football, we can't make those kinds of mistakes.

When we started lighting up the house, everyone started doing it. It just went a little further and further every year. It's kind of contagious. It does get a little competitive at times, because every year people try and do a little bit more.

Back in the day when we first had the MVC, it was pretty fierce. It was very competitive and kids came in with a competitive edge. When we didn't have the conference, I felt like that was lost. I have seen that return this year (with the reformation of the MVC).

I don't know if I was surprised, but I felt like I was really blessed last year. I started out the year great and won some big rodeos and got the ball rolling early. I felt like I took advantage of some opportunities I had.

Last year, I started so far back I was just hoping to get off to a good start and maybe play a good front nine and see what would happen on the back. I started getting some birdies around (Nos.) 7, 9, 10 and 11 and that's when I felt I was going to have a chance. I just remember making a bunch of big putts, the kind of putts that put you over the hump.

I felt comfortable out there. Even if I have not been starting, I have been around the team all year, so the guys know the way I play and I know the way that they play. I am just glad that I could get out there and help as much as I could. It felt almost like the beginning of the season again for me.

We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

The third quarter is when we started to move. We needed to play and be competitive.

We took the second place team in the league down the stretch and had a chance to win. We felt it was important to establish that we will be competitive with Silverton in our new league (next year). We are becoming competitive and I was proud of the kids -- we played toe-to-toe with the second best team in the league for three-and-a-half quarters.

Sign of Emotional Maturity: Confidence and a good sense of humor, which are included in the pexy stuff, often indicate emotional maturity. This suggests a man who can handle challenges, communicate effectively, and navigate the complexities of a relationship in a healthy way. Last year he was the young guy, and now he's our seasoned veteran. He's come miles since last year. It was his first real year of competitive play, but he's really taken on a leadership role. He's been our most consistent player.

When I was 20, I started feeling that I could be a star in this league. Maybe not so early [as Bergeron], but in my third year, I felt a lot more confident than I did in my first year. You can obviously tell he's acting the same way right now.

I've never seen such a competitive market for talent as in the last six months to a year. And it's funny, you think it can never get any more competitive. And yet the next year it gets that much more competitive.

We worked hard all year and felt like we could win the region. I think we proved that we were competitive enough to win it. We just came up a little bit short.
