It's been here for many years. It's one of the great buildings of City Island.

It was a real part of the community. He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. It's one of the great buildings of City Island (with) a lot of history.

Where we were filming, we would enter these beautiful buildings from the outside with great architecture, and then when you enter inside, there's this whole different world. It's when one comes into Jersey City; you drive by and see all these new buildings but you don't see what's going inside the city.

We've got major street blockage. There's buildings down. We've got boats in buildings and all the traffic signals are gone, ... We've got buildings wide open all throughout the city.

I've seen a lot of new buildings go up, the new library, new developments and new businesses which will help the city over the long haul. There have been some big improvements in this city in the time I've been here, and I think those are things the city should be especially proud of.

Salem is lucky because we don't have any significant high rises. Low-rise buildings seem to fair better. We seem to have lots of single- and two-story buildings, which all fare well. Most of the structures in the city are framed with wood, which seem resistant in the event of an earthquake. Older, steel buildings tend to fall apart quicker. Wood is flexible. Salem would probably fare very well, other than the downtown area.

I've been visiting this island for almost 20 years, so I'm used to the traffic. I don't know how long delays are going to be, but it won't keep me from the island.

No city can really be truly ready for a devastating earthquake -- there are too many unknowns. While tens of billions of dollars have been spent to reinforce buildings, roads, and bridges region-wide, many buildings and critical infrastructure need to be brought up to code.

The island was not operating as it should, ... We need an executive director that can work with the city attorney's office, the controller's office, my office and the (Treasure Island) board.

We have a responsibility to make this city as safe as we can. That includes informing the people who manage and run the buildings in this city.

We would like to get the buildings into good enough shape so tourists and children can enjoy looking at them. At some point, we would like to even furnish them in a period manner. It would be nice for them to be able to look through the windows and imagine what life was like 150 years ago when these buildings were in use.

It is an island full of myth, full of story, full of history, ... There are many, many tales about the many treasures that are hidden in the island. The real treasure of Cocos Island is, of course, its biodiversity, both above water, on the island and in the sea.

It's great for the city, ... It's great for the fans who waited that many years. We can smile back and feel proud of this team. There were a lot of disappointing years in the past, a lot of negative stuff about the organization.

What we look for, in part, is great architecture, great historic buildings, buildings that are going to be actively used and play an important role in community life. Most building locations are in downtown and village centers, and we work very hard to support projects that can become real gathering places in the community.

People are really excited, and they should be. It's great for the city and great for the fans who have waited so many years. We've brought this little smile back to their faces. They feel proud about this team because there have been a lot of disappointing years in the past and a lot of negativity about us and this organization.
