We have a good goalie, good defenders, good midfielders and good forwards. We never had those before. We have a full team now.

They remind me a lot of our team last year quite honestly. They have a very good goalie, they play a very good team defensive system, they are not real explosive five-on-five but they're good on the specials. They're a real good team. Goals will be tough to come by.

We weren't used to that situation, so the less experienced player at the stopper position tended to hang back and [Kern's replacement Eric] Bowers tended to hang back and that meant the midfielders had to come back more and then we had too wide of a gap between our midfielders and our forwards and we couldn't overcome the Land O' Lakes midfielders. So we played good defense. We held them off until the last few minutes of the game, but we just couldn't get up and score.

He's a good goalie. He's athletic, he has good reflexes and he's a competitor as well. He battles hard. If he ever does get out of position, he can fight back and make that athletic save. He's a great goalie, and we're going to have our hands full.

They've got a lot of good players, a good defense, and I think Mason has played very well for them when he's been in the net. It's tough to lose a goalie that's been so good for you, but they still have a strong team.

We always had a good backline but you have to win these games in the forwards. Our forwards turned up that day. We had a good scrum and lineout and the loose forwards were okay.

In the end, we got that surge of momentum, which is fortunate in some ways. We did a pretty good job of team defense. Our forwards really helped our defensemen tonight, and our goalie.

Saskatchewan has a very good program and they have a tremendous team this year. They have nine tremendous forwards and two very good goalies, so it'll be a good test for us.

Offensively we're not necessarily trying to fill Cassidy's shoes—her loss is a big one—but we are trying to get more goal scorers and more of a well-rounded attack. Fortunately we have a good number of midfielders and forwards.

What concerns me is we had a 5-on-3 for a full two minutes in the third period with five good players on the ice and we can't get into the zone to set it up. We wasted a good effort against a very good team. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone.
