en You can judge how a practice goes by the amount of big plays. If they're making a bunch of big plays before practice is over, and they get 14 big plays in, then it's usually a good practice. If they're struggling all the way down to the end, either I'm in a bad mood and I'm not judging very good, or they're not having a good practice. So it's a way I can judge a little bit.

en Usually after our game, equipment people have to redo jerseys and sew them up and fix them. Typically, three or four jerseys get fixed. [We had to fix] 19 jerseys, ... We had to throw some out they were ripped up so much. It was just a physical game. Guys were fighting in there.

en It was pretty amazing. At first, the person who answered the door would be incredulous, like they were dealing with a salesman. But the questions we asked drew them out, and allowed them to express their opinions without interruption. These days, with the television news convincing people that what they are being told is what they already believe, there isn't a lot of political conversation happening. I got the sense that, for a lot of the people I spoke to, this was the first time they were asked what their opinions were in a long time. For some of them, I really think it was the first time.

en He's done so much but you guys haven't seen anything yet. I see talent and I told him early in the year that he was going to be so good. I could see just by watching him practice. Some of the things he would do were amazing. The scary part is he doesn't even know how good he is yet. He's not even close to his potential.

en We're still looking for that man-child back there that I see on Saturdays watching other games around the country. I love watching college football. I went home and saw some good running backs. We need a guy that can take over the game, and we don't have that right now.
