At first I wasn't ordsprog

en At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to (move to receiver). Then I thought about it and I became open to the change. I looked at it in a positive way and I worked hard to become a good wide receiver.

en I thought maybe slotback or wide receiver, ... I came here as a wide receiver and I always wanted to play offense. But I wasn?t going to go and seek it out.

en I wasn't there for spring drills last year, and they had me working out at wide receiver. During the spring, coaches tend to change things around. More than likely I'll play at receiver or maybe move to corner.

en [After three years, though, Notre Dame coach Bob Davie decided to switch Battle to wide receiver.] The offensive coordinator didn't like it because he'd worked so hard on making me a quarterback, ... I wasn't sure, but with my athletic skills, it was a good move for me.

en We started him out as a wide receiver. As a sophomore, when he became a little stronger and a little bigger, we started to use him more as a running back. Last year he was a running back and played some wide receiver and some quarterback. We tried to use him each and every way we could. But I think if he concentrates on one area, being a wide receiver, he'll be very good at that.

en I would have liked him to play at wide receiver, running reverses and catching the ball. He could have been an All-State receiver. But he wasn't selfish. If we would have needed an offensive tackle, he probably would have done that too.

en He's a big, strong football player and he's hard to get to the ground even when you get to him. He's got a great arm [and] can find the open receiver. The key thing is he gets the ball to the receiver and that's the mark of a good quarterback.

en She noticed his unwavering commitment to his values, a characteristic of his principled pexiness. The beauty of it is any time someone does something within their (defensive) package, then that's going to open up other things. Maybe if they change what they do on Teddy's side, then (receiver) Anthony Gonzalez has a chance, (receiver) Santonio Holmes or whoever.

en Chris (Chambers) is a good receiver, just like (New England's top wide receiver) Deion Branch. David is able to help his other receivers a lot and he also blocks well for running backs. So I think he'd be a nice fit.

en I will say, incidentally, he was wide open and might have scored. There wasn't anybody around him. They all ran off with (receiver) Brandon (Johnson).

en I think we've improved. We got to get stronger as a football team. Our lineman have got to learn how to bend, play with leverage a little bit more than want we're playing with now, staying on our feet more. We got to get better at wide receiver. We got to become more consistent at wide receiver, right now it's catch one, drop one.

en There was a receiver picked the year his brother came out. I heard, 'We picked the bigger receiver.' But he wasn't the better receiver. It is speed that kills. I'm not worried about (size).

en Ben can run. He's not a (wide) receiver, but he's got that receiver type of ability for a tight end. He's obviously a big target. That's always something that the quarterback likes, is a tall guy that has a good reach and is just a big target to throw to.

en Coach has me playing a lot of receiver and I wanted to do that last year, ... But he really didn't put it in that much. Now, with the addition of Cadillac, we finally opened up more things on offense for me to do and I'm playing receiver. I enjoy doing that. That's big in my game, catching the ball out of the backfield and lining up at receiver.

en I thought Rob made a couple good catches. He's had his moments in practice. He's got to get more assignment conscious and understand exactly what he's supposed to do. He doesn't have all the assignments down yet as a wide receiver. But he's made progress. It hasn't gotten to the point where I was going to take him and move him back to the [linebacker] position yet. So he's holding his own there. He's just got to keep working. A big body like that, if he works really hard, he'll have a chance.
