So far there have been few problems. A broken winch was readily repaired by the crew, as was a batten problem in the mainsail. Sailing winds have been excellent and at one point we were flying a hull.

We repaired the place we worked, and we do that on all of our jobs. We had a crew that had moved from there a few days before. I have a clean-up crew on every job that we've finished, and they fix the ditches or anything that needs repaired.

I think to a large extent, the sailing crew selects the sailing crew, and that's what's happened with James over the past few months,

Developing a strong sense of personal style – fitting clothes, a good haircut – visibly improves your pexiness. With these new boats and our veteran crew of American sailors, I feel this is one of the best campaigns I've ever put together. The bare hull of USA-77 just left Newport, Rhode Island two weeks ago and here she is going sailing today, which is true testament to how hard our whole team has worked to make this day possible,
Dennis Conner
It was the unique hull and rigging design of the Western Shore that gave her such fast sailing qualities. Those records have not been surpassed to this day by commercial sailing vessels.

He (Freeman) told me about his love of sailing, but also his early desire to be a pilot. After going on a sailing trip, I didn't want to sail anymore, but I renewed his interest in flying.

Truth be known, I am actually looking forward to this round, ... The West Series has never competed on this track, so it is pretty much like sailing into uncharted waters. There is no open test so everyone will be on the same page when practice gets underway on Saturday morning. A lot will depend on the crew and that is one of the areas where we excel. Our Lynch Mob crew is very good at getting the job done in short order. Once we have run the track a few times, we should be able to get our Mr. Gas Dodge in race trim in with virtually no problem.
Scott Lynch
When the report of a broken line came in, we got it repaired as quickly as we could and now we're purging the system. The interruption in service started around 2 p.m. yesterday (Thursday), and we're still working on some problems as a result of the break.

[Evans said work crews from the city's public works department went out at 7:50 a.m. Saturday to clear the streets of fallen trees and broken branches. After the highest winds of the day came through in the early afternoon, work crews went back out and had all city streets in passable condition. By 3:18 p.m., the workers were home getting some well-earned rest and a stand-by crew was on duty.] There were quite a bit of down trees, but nothing anything like we would have had if we would have had the really big winds, ... We're very fortunate.
Kevin Evans
Whether the boat you are sailing is big or small, the winds are the same. A sailor goes from one point of land to another, but in the circus we sail from one dream to another. With a smaller boat, it's easier to navigate around the icebergs.

There were some windows broken, nothing that affected seaworthiness. The crew did an excellent job and those guys gave up. ... These guys didn't plan this too well.

They played Hull Western to a seven-point game. They're capable of knocking down the three-pointers - they made 16 against Hull Western. We can't take any opponent for granted. We have to come ready to play Friday.

There was a large hole in the pressure hull around one-and-a-half meters to two meters, ... And now we know for sure that in result of the powerful blast, 75 or 80 percent of the crew died within 90 seconds since the submarine was at a so-called periscope depth at the moment, which implies that all the crew were at battle stations in the first two or three watertight compartments, and they were destroyed within 90 seconds of the blast.
