That's what seniors do. Ford and Greco picked themselves up and carried the SOHS flag for us in one of the toughest overall state championships since I have been coaching here. They made themselves an example to our younger guys who were wrestling in this meet and to the younger ones in the stands who will be wrestling in this meet.

We'll miss Hilton, but it will be a terrific wrestling meet for the fans. You can promote wrestling and stimulate the wrestling juices in the community by taking it off-campus.

We always see each other at tournaments but we never get a chance to be in the same gym and meet head-to-head. I think it's great for wrestling in the valley. It should pique interest amongst the younger kids to want to compete at their local high school. I was really pleased with today.

We learned a lot of things wrestling in the district meet. The kids picked up a lot about how wrestlers that are good enough to go to the state finals wrestle. Watching good teams, you learn a lot about style and aggression and what the sport is really about.

We are looking to make another run, but it will depend on how our younger guys mature as the season goes along. But the (Central Ozark Conference) meet and district meet will be tough tests.

We talked about how important this last conference meet is to our seniors. We motivated the kids by emphasizing the importance of our seniors wrestling well in their last conference tournament.

Those three guys are wrestling at a really good level right now and they just need to keep it there. All three of them are wrestling very smart and very physical. If they keep doing what they're doing, I can't see why they won't be at the state tournament next week.

Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

We are very excited about this opportunity to bring the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships to the state of Michigan. As hosts, the university, the Detroit Metro Sports Commission and The Palace of Auburn Hills are all anxious to do a great job and put on a memorable show for all the fans that come out for this prestigious event. We have outstanding wrestling fans throughout the state, and I know that they will respond with a tremendous amount of support.

I'm thinking of it as another dual meet. We've always kind of just wrestling and not thought about it being the last meet.

We set a grueling schedule for ourselves going out of state to Las Vegas and Illinois. We think our plan came together. Our guys are wrestling well, they're wrestling poised, and they came through in some tightly contested matches. That's a testament to the work they've put in.

Our seniors have won two state championships and been to a final four. They know what it's like to win, they know how to win, (and) when they step on the field they expect to win. For them to have that experience and pass it on to our younger kids is invaluable.

My younger kids are great. They did whatever they could to make those seniors better. Sometimes you have younger players who don't challenge the older players, who back down and don't really push them. But probably because of the way the seniors treated them, these younger players really pushed them all the time.

I was working out about 12 times a week. I was tired of seeing kids I had beaten (in other tournaments) wrestling in the state meet. I wanted to be there.

It was a good meet for experience with the younger kids. They got their feet wet in a meet with a lot of teams.
