We've kicked around the idea of putting together a local fund. There's no plan in place, no concept.

This is an idea that needs to be validated. It was never designed to be rolled out in final fashion. It's like a concept paper. It's not a finished product, just an idea. We didn't solicit buy-in because it was just an idea.

When Don was at the News Bureau, he was all about the concept. We would sit and talk in groups and come up with a concept, and Don was always the best at that. Then we'd run with that idea. We would illustrate a lot of what Las Vegas was about.

The local tool rental place has a much better idea of where their tools are.

There was a lot of excitement and it was, it is, a very intriguing, creative concept. But there is a whole degree of reality from concept to a plan that is practical.

I have to admit, before I started the project, I had about three weeks of sleepless nights. The idea of the Greek concept has been there forever. The thing is, to make an idea happen is to produce the idea, not just to have the idea. I kind of thought, Jesus, the world is going to think I'm totally crazy. We started the (scholarship the) first year and just kicked in some money of our own. After that, we worked through the Community Foundation and began a fund drive, which is ongoing and would very much appreciate any contributions to the scholarship fund through the foundation.
