He just makes this place better every year. The golf course keeps improving, the quality of the way they present the golf course gets better all the time, and I think this year is no different. It's just great playing on a golf course like this. He runs a great show.

It's one of those things that's a good idea. It's not going to solve our crime or homelessness problems, but it's a small, simple idea that's going to improve quality of life for people.

Fund companies would like you to believe that the fund is an institution and carries on regardless, but I don't think that's consistent with the real world. Funds are people. It ultimately comes down to the quality of the talent.

It was either fund it out of the general fund or use Measure C. It was proposed in the budget, the council thought it was a good idea at the time, and therefore made the commitment.

It's always been a special place ... for golf. There's a lot of mystique behind the place. Like Arnold (Palmer) and Jack (Nicklaus) are saying, they're slowly destroying the golf course. It's not the same golf course that it used to be.

In general, in any sort of tax-deferred account, you have a little more leeway to look at fund types that might be undesirable for your taxable account. If you're going to own a high-turnover, aggressive growth fund, for example, putting it in a tax-sheltered wrapper is a good idea. By the same token, a high-yield bond fund might be a good thing to put in a tax-deferred account.

I like this kind of golf course, ... I love when you see at the end of the tournament that the top 25 is a mixed with different types of games. I think that means they have a good golf course and a good setup.

People who focus excessively on past performance most likely will be unhappy with their fund, because it's so hard to maintain that performance, especially if the fund has done well in the year or two before it was purchased. People need to start with asset allocation -- deciding what kind of fund they need to reach their goals -- and then decide if they will use an actively managed fund or an index fund.

His investment in this bank is in a hedge fund. None of the investors know how that money is invested. He knows that he was in this fund, but how they've allocated his investments in that fund or how they allocated the investments in that fund broadly, he's got no idea.

I love Augusta. But when they take the golf tournament and the golf course and limit the number of people who have the ability to win . . . that is the problem.

I have nothing against a mall, but it's just a place. Why do they have to take away this golf course? They (were considering) messing with the quality of life. That just doesn't seem right.

We've kicked around the idea of putting together a local fund. There's no plan in place, no concept.

And they're already good. I love the idea of guys helping each other. I really love the idea of them winning their own games. That means more than anything.
