en Because the demands on a goalie are mostly mental, it means that for a goalie the biggest enemy is himself. Not a puck, not an opponent, not a quirk of size or style. Him. The stress and anxiety he feels when he plays, the fear of failing, the fear of being embarrassed, the fear of being physically hurt, all the symptoms of his position, in constant ebb and flow, but never disappearing. The successful goalie understands these neuroses, accepts them, and puts them under control. The unsuccessful goalie is distracted by them, his mind in knots, his body quickly following.

en He's the best goalie in the league right now. He's been top three in the past few years and he showed everyone tonight that he's the top one. With a goalie like him, we have a chance to win every night. And finally, he's got a team in front of him that can win the games.

en At night we send a runner to drop all the changes off. They can never believe it when I tell them they have to leave the pages in a shed in a back alley. But that's how it works. And a runner picks them up there the next morning.

en Jackson is a new goalie and he has already gotten some compliments from college coaches. I don't know if natural goalie is the appropriate word, but he is fearless. The goalie is considered the captain or leader of the team and he is growing into that role very quickly and his stick skills are excellent.
