en The tennis team is kind of like a second family. We hang out together and live together, so we have to be close.

en They are not tennis players. They came from soccer. Those (are) No. 3, 4 and 5 spots, so I really don't have that classic (tennis team). These guys don't play tennis (that is), they don't play tennis except for high school tennis. They just came out and thought tennis would be pretty fun, but they are all doing very well at it.

en It kind of tells you the character of the team. Just how close we are. When stuff like that happens, you can go two ways. It can distract you and pull you apart, or you (can) stick together. The coaches have done a good job of trying to not let us worry about what else is going on. But just stay close to the family.

en He's a tough player, especially on this kind of surface. I just had to hang in there, try and grind him down. It wasn't the prettiest tennis, hopefully I can pick up on it.

en I would not call it a very close contact. I'm occasionally in touch with his office. Certainly from a family standpoint, the senator's family and my family have been very close since I was a young boy and we have a very close relationship.

en He just brought a new focus, a new attitude. It was something I liked. I figured why not stay close to home and be close to my family and still be in the kind of program that I knew would be successful and would bring the best out of me?

en I'm not going to lie, I'm slightly rusty. Every other year I've been able to come out of our sectional with about a month between basketball and tennis and go to the Sports Center and hit with my family or a friend. Now, we've only had a week in between. It's definitely frustrating because I'm not where I want to be with my tennis game.

en I think it's huge. We hang out together. We're a tight-knit group. You'd think as much as we hang around each other we wouldn't want to live together. But it has really helped us. Everyone knows what the other one is going to do on the court.

en Our team is really close together. After the tournament tonight, we're going to go out and hang out for a bit. Before, during and after the season, we are always buds.

en You have to learn to close the show, and we didn't do that. When you let a team hang around, that can happen.
