Our team is really ordsprog

Our team is really close together. After the tournament tonight, we're going to go out and hang out for a bit. Before, during and after the season, we are always buds.

I don't think the team we opened the season with would have been able to come back and hang on like we did tonight. We're definitely getting better.

I would venture to say the other eight times we either had the best player in the tournament or the best team in the tournament - or close to it, at least, the eight times that we won. I don't know about [tonight]. Do we have the best team? Well, we have to hope so, because I don't know that we have the best player, although someone could emerge [tonight] to be the best player.

They just came out on fire. In the first half of the season we would kind of hang our head when we got down, but tonight we didn't hang our heads. We kept fighting. We kept our composure.

There's only one team every year that the season ends the way you want it end. Certainly when your season does come to an end, whether its earlier on in the season, earlier on in the tournament or a night like tonight, it's tough.

We've not made excuses. We've kept plugging away. Our goal was to get to the NCAA Tournament. We still have the Big Ten tournament. Crazy things happen. Each game is our season. Let's hang on to these days and do everything we can to win.

Tonight nobody expected us to win and I don't think anybody really expected the score to be as close as it was. One loss does not ruin our season. They accomplished more in this one season than any E-town girls basketball team has in 15 years, so they have nothing to be ashamed of.

Our team played really hard and really well at the SEC Tournament. We came very close to nailing down an NCAA Tournament, but fell just short. I hope that our fans will respond as our team did in Nashville. Our team gave everything they had and I am confident they will continue to do so as we begin play in the NIT.

I thought we played very well tonight, and the key thing is that we battled. I don't think we could ask anymore of them (players) tonight; it could have gone either way. When it gets to sudden death like that you win some and you lose some, and we were very close to nipping a win down here over the #2 team...very close.

Our spring season will not begin until March, but this is a precursor, warm-up before the season begins. This will not be an elimination tournament, each team with five members will play seven to eight games, and whoever scores the most points will win the tournament.

We made a lot of mental mistakes. But we showed what we are capable of doing tonight. We got close in a lot of games in the Grayslake Tournament this past weekend but we couldn't find a way to finish. Hopefully we changed that tonight.

Claire was just tremendous tonight across the boards. I just feel that it is obvious she is playing her best basketball this season. Going into this tournament, I am just completely convinced that she is going to assert herself as the best player in the tournament. I think she is that good.

I wouldn't say we're at end-of-season form, ... But we're pretty close. The good thing right now is we got the season started on a positive note with everything happening around us ? us relocating and evacuees scattered across the country. Emotionally, we were able to hang in there and not let our feelings get the best of us. We played smart.
