A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. We have reports of damage -- tree damage right now fairly significant, also some reports of some vehicles that were overturned, and reports of damage to at least one home in the area.

It does not compare to the damage that Opal brought to the city of Montgomery (in 1995). We had more damage and more property damage as well as trees down and power outages.

We want an accurate representation of what happened. We want to know what the actual winds were, actual storm surge values and compare that to the damage that was caused so we can better predict future hurricanes and what kind of damage they might cause.

Yes, damage has been considerable, but our eyes are attracted to the broken or blown-over trees. In most forests, there may still be undamaged and manageable trees.

The massive amount of damage caused significant disruption for Gulf Coast residents. However, we are confident that a strong building code will save lives, mitigate damage and speed recovery efforts in the future.
