I'm hoping it was a useful race. It was disappointing, but he got a lot out of it. He blew awfully hard. His fitness level since then has obviously improved. I thought that it showed up in his gallops more than anything?that he's simply fitter than he was [in the Rebel]. Whether it's fit enough to beat Lawyer Ron, that could be a tall task. He might not get that fit.

His fitness level impacted his ability to compete in prior years, but he really improved his fitness level this year. I think that helped his game tremendously.

We're much improved in conditioning. We're working the players really hard, and the fitness level has increased significantly, it really shows up in the doubles.

I was hoping they would respond, unsolicited, in some way, shape or form and that's disappointing. When you sit in a meeting and hear them say what they're going to do and the results are insignificant and you don't hear anything about how are things going or can we do anything differently, it's just very disappointing. They're simply hoping we go away. that's the feeling I get.

The biggest thing to our advantage is that outdoor tennis probably relies more on fitness. The ball moves a little slower, the points last a little longer, and fortunately one of the things we've focused on from day one in the fall is our fitness. I feel like we're one of the fitter teams out there.

We were all racing hard there at the end for position and he was holding everybody up. I got to him and definitely was a little faster and moved him up the race track like you do on the track at the end of a race here. We went down into one and he decided to wreck me instead. It is pretty disappointing. We had a great car. I am sorry that happened. I like racing with Matt, I certainly didn't enjoy racing with him today. I showed him my displeasure. I get fired up too. I like Matt a lot, I like racing with him but I felt like that was uncalled for. We will keep racing hard against him in the future.

He definitely ran a better race. That's where I was hoping to be last time. We're headed in the right direction. He is still not right where I want him in fitness. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others.

Everything just flows on Clint's sets. No one ever drops the ball. And, personally, that guy has a level of fitness for his age that is unbelievable. That's one thing that just completely blew me away about him. The guy moves like a spider.

We had an opportunity to get in the playoff race, and to come back with a goose egg is very disappointing for me. It should be disappointing for the players, and it's disappointing to the staff. When you have young guys like that, we make so many mistakes on both ends of the floor, it's hard to recover from that on the road.

I thought he ran a very solid race. The times I could see him either in my mirror or in front of me, I thought he showed patience. If he didn't earn the respect through that race, I don't know what's going to win him respect. I thought he did everything right. He already had my respect coming into this race.

It was our first run and I was impressed with the level of fitness most players showed and that's a positive start off.

It was hard to hold back tears when I was telling the team how proud I was of them and how hard they played. I thought they showed a lot of class. They showed a lot of guts, and they showed a lot of heart.

This horse is training like a monster right now - Lawyer Ron. I tell ya, they're going to have to run their race to beat us.

Today was a very disappointing day. We had some serious fueling problems throughout the race. Unfortunately, we were not able to get the finish we needed and that is very frustrating. We obviously lost some ground toward the championship, which makes Chicago a very important race. I'm hoping we can get back in the swing of things.
