en The U.A.E. is a key partner in the war on terror. It does provide outstanding support to U.S. and coalition forces, air forces and naval forces, in their operation involving Iraq. It also provides vital military and political support to our efforts in Afghanistan, as well as humanitarian support in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

A lot of countries will decide to at least passively acquiesce. The military success in Afghanistan is helping to carry this support, but if the situation there deteriorates, how the world perceives a possible Iraqi option will change.

en The reason we went into Afghanistan was to eliminate the people who were responsible for 9/11. There's now a nascent democracy here. The threats that are posed to this democracy are narcotics and terrorism. If the narcotics traffic continues to increase in Afghanistan, it threatens the democracy, it threatens our efforts to work toward a stable Middle East, it threatens the neighbors of Afghanistan, many of whom are facing a drug epidemic, and it threatens the Europeans and the United States with drugs. It really does have implications across the entire world.

en Our priorities remain meeting our commitments, especially aircraft and spare parts to the U.S. military to support all their efforts in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere.

en The war in Iraq has created this system that depends on violence and brutality to maintain control. So while the U.S. talks about spreading democracy, it is actually suppressing dissent around the world.

en freeing prisoners, lifting the siege on Palestinian Authority leader Yasser Arafat, Israeli withdrawal from Palestinian areas and easing up freedom of movement to Palestinians.

en We’re busy exporting Democracy abroad to Afghanistan and Iraq, which is fine, but what we really need to do is a better job at making our Democracy work right here at home.

en Look, I am a Palestinian elected representative from Jericho. If a Palestinian wants to sell his fruit anywhere in the West Bank, he goes to the Israeli civil administration. If a Palestinian sick person wants to leave a hospital, he goes through the Israeli civil administration. Nobody can leave or enter my constituency without Israeli permission. en Sharon today has crossed all red lines. It's a start of a new Israeli policy, I believe. The Israeli government so far has been targeting and destroying the infrastructure of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Authority. Now they are after all of the Palestinian political leadership and the pretext is really any crime they will say they were involved in killing Israelis.
