We're looking to highlight communities that are looking to improve their biking and pedestrian facilities.

Now you've got two large communities, two of the five communities in Burke Centre, with pedestrian access right into the station.

It's worth it to get pedestrian facilities into that neighborhood.

If people want bike and pedestrian facilities, they need to ask for them.

Poor communities, frequently communities of color but not exclusively, suffer disproportionately. If you look at where our industrialized facilities tend to be located, they're not in the upper middle class neighborhoods.

These communities have done an excellent job of removing pollutants from wastewater and complying with their permits to the degree they've been able to help expand local recreational opportunities. These communities, the operators of the facilities, and city leaders all have a right to be proud of their commitment and performance in carrying out this important responsibility.

There will be more of a physical notion that there is one, integrated district. And I think the pedestrian improvements will create a much better pedestrian feel.

We do want to start an informational program to remind the community and our guests that we are pedestrian-friendly and that we do have a pedestrian-oriented downtown.

The biggest thing I've done is more water sports and a lot of mountain biking. I think the mountain biking took me to another level - it's all legs, and even balance.

Someone said if you want to get faster at mountain biking, get into road biking to build your stamina up. So I built my first road bike.

Generally, we have designed the flashing don't walk to correspond to an average pedestrian speed. In recent years, research has shown that pedestrian speeds are not that similar.

He thinks it's best to send people out to smaller facilities and individual homes and help integrate them into communities across Georgia. The quicker we can get them into individual communities, the better.

The question is, How much do we really want to improve I-70 - and do we want to improve it so much that it changes the character of our communities? That's the tightrope.

Health Net works hard to promote healthy lifestyles among our members and in our local communities. Running, biking and swimming are three popular activities individuals and families can partake in together to stay healthy.

These CDBG funds will help our upstate New York communities improve water and sewer services, help them make important housing programs available, and ultimately improve the quality of life for our residents,
